Beacon Financial is seeking a new team member for our Member Service Generalist position.  This position purpose is to: Assist new and existing members with their financial needs, opens and closes various types of accounts, processes transactions, resolves account problems, assists members with loan requests, actively identify and act on cross-sell opportunities.  Ensure an exceptional experience with every member interaction.  Work with other team members to ensure branch operations are completed.  Conduct yourself in a manner that is conducive to a positive work culture.

The main functions of the Member Service Generalist position are:

  • Assists members with opening and maintaining accounts, processes transactions, and addresses and resolves member problems, inquiries, or complaints.
  • Identifies opportunities to cross-sell additional products or services to members.
  • Interviews members to assist them in preparing loan applications. Answer basic questions, gathers, and organizes required documents for loan processing.
  • Confers with members by telephone, digital applications, or in person to provide information about products or services.
  • Maintains accurate member account information on various systems and prepares required reports for management.
  • Acts as liaison between members and various departments.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Knowledge

  • Clerical – Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, spreadsheets, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
  • Computer Systems – Working knowledge of related computer systems and applications.
  • English Language – Thorough knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Member & Personal Service – Working knowledge of principles and processes for providing member and personal services. This includes member needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of member satisfaction.
  • Operations – Working knowledge of established teller procedures and policies. Understanding of Credit Union operations
